Dhirubhai Ambani Knowledge City
An old industrial unit, manufacturing synthetic fibers, makes way for a modern IT Complex. A group of ten buildings occupying approximately 50 acres houses the offices of Reliance Infocomm. The grouping of the buildings offers a large central open space meant strictly for pedestrian movement. The vehicular traffic moves along the outer periphery. Two strong axes, running North- South and East- West, hold the meandering network of paths which are used by a working population of 6,000 people in this sector. Three major food courts spill over on to the plazas, each adorned by a specialty fountain. The geometrical configuration of buildings creates open spaces of different scale and shapes, which are made more meaningful and enjoyable by the landscape elements such as landforms and well-balanced hard and soft surfaces. Other important buildings of the campus are National Network Operating Centre (NNOC), National Headquarters and Petroleum Headquarters. All the three buildings with stone and glass façades, designed in minimalistic style get appropriate settings of uncluttered lawns, serene water bodies and structured greenery.
